Hi Logan, I am so glad you are feeling better. We only got some flurries out our way. Some parts of Texas got a little snow. That excites everyone, as it seldom happens in Texas unless it is up around the panhandle. The snow and sled brings back so many memories of when my brother and I were Grandma Betty's and Papa Jack's neighbors and we would sleigh ride in those big West Virginia snows. You take care and keep smiling. God bless you and family. So glad your Christmas was great and you had snow. We had a good Christmas here too. At least it got cold enough to have a fire in the fireplace, ha.... We love you and you are in our prayers. Enjoy the rest of the Holiday season. If you are still at Grandma Betty's , give her a big hug for me....love,your Texas Pals, Larry and Sandy

The Brave Little Soul by John Alessi.
Logan, I am not sure if I have shared this story with you but we read this story to the girls often especially after praying for you in your battle with cancer. I have scheduled an appt. to donate platelets this week in your honor. "Not too long ago in Heaven there was a little soul who took wonder in observing the world. He especially enjoyed the love he saw there and often expressed this joy with God. One day however the little soul was sad, for on this day he saw suffering in the world. He approached God and sadly asked, “Why do bad things happen; why is there suffering in the world?”
God paused for a moment and replied, "Little soul, do not be sad, for the suffering you see, unlocks the love in people’s hearts.” The little soul was confused. “What do you mean,” he asked.” God replied, “Have you not noticed the goodness and love that is the offspring of that suffering? Look at how people come together, drop their differences and show their love and compassion for those who suffer. All their other motivations disappear and they become motivated by love alone.”
The little soul began to understand and listened attentively as God continued, “The suffering soul unlocks the love in people’s hearts much like the sun and the rain unlock the flower within the seed. I created everyone with endless love in their heart, but unfortunately most people keep it locked up and hardly share it with anyone. They are afraid to let their love shine freely, because they are afraid of being hurt. But a suffering soul unlocks that love. I tell you this - it is the greatest miracle of all. Many souls have bravely chosen to go into the world and suffer - to unlock this love – to create this miracle - for the good of all humanity."
Just then the little soul got a wonderful idea and could hardly contain himself. With his wings fluttering, bouncing up and down, the little soul excitedly replied, "I am brave; let me go! I would like to go into the world and suffer so that I can unlock the goodness and love in people’s hearts! I want to create that miracle!"
God smiled and said, "You are a brave soul I know, and thus I will grant your request. But even though you are very brave you will not be able to do this alone. I have known since the beginning of time that you would ask for this and so I have carefully selected many souls to care for you on your journey. Those souls will help you create your miracle; however they will also share in your suffering. Two of these souls are most special and will care for you, help you and suffer along with you, far beyond the others. They have already chosen a name for you.”
God and the brave little soul shared a smile, and then embraced. In parting, God said, “Do not forget little soul that I will be with you always. Although you have agreed to bear the pain, you will do so through my strength. And if the time should come when you feel that you have suffered enough, just say the word, think the thought, and you will be healed.”
Thus at that moment the brave little soul was born into the world, and through his suffering and God’s strength, he unlocked the goodness and love in people’s hearts. For so many people dropped their differences and came together to show their love. Priorities became properly aligned. People gave from their hearts. Those that were always too busy found time. Many began new spiritual journeys – some regained lost faith – many came back to God. Parents hugged their children tighter. Friends and family grew closer. Old friends got together and new friendships were made. Distant family reunited, and every family spent more time together. Everyone prayed. Peace and love reigned. Lives changed forever. It was good. The world was a better place. The miracle had happened. God was pleased. "
Needless to say, I was moved to tears reading this story. Logan is your/our brave little soul. Like all of us, our 3 girls are having such a difficult time understanding why God has chosen Logan and we pray God cures him completely with the cancer to NEVER return. We are praying for God to help Logan and give all of you strength to carrying on with your journey and fight the cancer. Genie & Tim Glaser (Southwest)

Hey Buddy,
I'm still always thinking about you even though I have not written as much as I wanted. You and your wonderful family stay in my heart and in my mind.
I certainly hope your Christmas was nice and Santa was kind. I was just looking at some of your pictures that were posted. Those gingerbread houses surely made me hungry....how many did you eat?????
And I see you are enjoying the snow. We got a bit up here also, but then we got some warm weather and some rain and it all disappeared.
I do continue to pray that things go very well for you in the new year.....2010 already....time seems to go by quickly.....maybe it only goes by quickly when you are old like me.....I'll be 172 years-old next year....naw....just kidding....really I'll only be 171....ha ha ha
Your mom sent me a Christmas Card with your and Emily's picture.....mighty attractive young people you got down there in Virginia Beach.....it must be something in your air down there that makes everyone look good.....am I right???
Well young buddy, you stay tough....and stay out of trouble....I know you will.
I love you and your family.....don't build too many snowmen...they might breath in all that air that make you so handsome.
C'ya Logan

Hi Logan
How are you? I hope you are feeling good today and smiling a lot. I am writing from Oakland today. I went to see my parents in Japan a few weeks ago. It is always good to be home. I just sent you a small package from Oakland. It's a bag of dried strawberries covered with white chocolate. I hope you love them. Also, there is a lucky charm in there. It should get there within a few days. Have a beautiful day.

We are loving the house full of people and Gingerbread party with so many houses of all decorating styles! What a blast! Please send us an invite next year and maybe we can be there by SKYPE! Sydney's favorite finishing touch on her Gingerbread house like Jack's is to sprinkle pixie stix all over like colored snow! We do not use yellow pixie stix! lol
Tomorrow - Sam goes in dressed as Amadeus Mozart, the great composer, and has to act like him for his Book Report. He picked him as someone who has had a positive impact on the world. Sydney is starring in the 3rd Grade production of the Marvelous Magical Sleigh and she is Sally Snowflake! We are all excited - we will send pictures! Yours are wonderful - tell us about how your friends happened to come down from Mass & MD. Happy Wild and Wooley Days! Bundle Up! J,S & S

Hi Logan
I've never attempted to do a gingerbread house in my life. That's a shame too because I've been a baker all my life and even owned two bakeries. We had a window that we put our pastries in and a gingerbread house would have been so nice at the xmas season. Your family looks so happy and everyone involved.

Hi Logan, Good choice of wearing apparel for your Thanksgiving dinner! A little info on the symbol and colors (it is, of course, the New Mexico state flag).
The red symbol is called a "Zia" and is an ancient symbol of the sun found on a water jar in a Zia Pueblo. Four is the sacred number of the Zia and is repeated in the four points radiating from the circle. The number four is embodied in the four points of the of the compass, North, East, South and West; in the four seasons of the year Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter; in the 24 hours of each day by sunrise, noon, evening and night; by four seasons of life, childhood, youth, adulthood and old age. The Zia also believed that with life came four sacred obligations: development of a strong body, a clear mind, a pure spirit and devotion to the welfare of people/family. All of these things are bound together within the circle of life.
Red creates energy and gives protection from fears. Yellow brings the clarity of a bright, sunny day and relief from exhaustion.
I celebrate the continued growth of the Force in you, young Logan. As always I send healing energy and good wishes.
Love to you and your family, Nina
